First City Providential College conquered the court after defening themselves against La Consolacion College in Fr. Martin’s Cup Championship Match.

Ken Laquibla eagerly rose to the challenge after he spearheaded a fourth-quarter blitz that made FCPC beat La Consolacion College, 78-75, and make history as champions of the 2018 Fr. Martin’s Cup Division 2 October 30 at the San Beda University Gym in Manila.

Early in the final canto, the Blue Royals was leading, 64-57, Laquibla led a blinding 10-10 run allowing the Royal Eagles to wrest the drivers’ seat, 67-41, an advantage they would protect the rest of the way.

Sobrang saya na nagawa namin ‘to para sa school. Pinaghirapan ng mga bata mula umpisa hanggang sa huli,” said RJ Decierdo, head coach.

According to Decierdo, the chnage to a zone defense midway through the final period allowed them to change the outcome of the game and eventually get away the win.

Meanwhile, John Matthew Bravo led the Eagles with 18 points while Laquibla added 17 markers.
